Project Description
Stage 1: The system is a PLC controlled plant equipped with telemetry. Rotary Lobe blowers were used to abstract vapour contaminated with chlorinated hydrocarbons and a similar high pressure blower was used to inject air via solenoid valves individually controlled by the PLC. Extracted vapour was treated in large GRS 2 tonne vapour-phase activated carbon vessels.
Stage 2: The system comprised circa 15 groundwater abstraction pumps, settling tanks, sand filtration, air stripping plus vapour and aqeous phase activated carbon treatment. Off-gas treatment for the stage 1 works was integrated into the stage 2 works for treatment of off-gas from the air stripper system.
