Ground Remediation Systems Ltd joins the BAUER Group
GRS are pleased to announce that in February 2007 the total shareholding of Ground Remediation Systems Ltd. was acquired by BAUER. GRS will join the BAUER Group as a wholly owned subsidiary of BAUER Environment, servicing the remediation market in the UK and Ireland.
Ground Remediation Systems Ltd was formed in 1993 as a joint venture, combining the expertise of CPL Carbon Link Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the CPL Industries Group of companies) and FWS Filter- und Wassertechnik GmbH, Germany’s leading company in the design and supply of packaged systems for the treatment of contaminated soils, ground water and air. In 2005 FWS joined the BAUER group.
BAUER is a global provider of specialist foundation engineering as well as a leading international supplier of specialist foundation engineering machinery, equipment and tools and has over 20 years of international experience.
BAUER Environment is a specialised world wide environmental engineering company within the BAUER Group.
The transaction was handled in an atmosphere of co-operation and friendliness with the former UK partner, CPL Carbon Link, pledging their ongoing support and assistance to the new business.
Peter Hingott, Head of the International Division of BAUER Environment expressed his confidence that the acquisition by BAUER will not only be of great benefit to GRS’ existing customers but will create new opportunities for expansion and introduction of specialist remediation technologies into the UK market.
Backed by the capabilities and extensive reference portfolio of BAUER, GRS will be able to offer enhanced designs of water and soil treatment systems together with a new range of in situ and ex situ technologies including a variety of construction based remediation solutions such as replacement borings, in situ fixation, funnel and gate systems etc.
