These are designed for the treatment of vapour streams containing high concentrations of solvents such as chlorinated hydrocarbons. Typically used where the concentrations exceed the economic viability of activated carbon in terms of consumption, or where destruction by catalytic oxidation is not viable due to the nature of the compounds. Solvent recovery systems operate by the alternate adsorption onto activated carbon and desorption by steam stripping and collection of the condensate.
The GRS solvent recovery systems are designed as modular packaged systems for rapid and simple deployment. The systems comprise twin activated carbon vessels and a fully automated adsorption/desorption cycle, condensate tanks and associated pumps, boilers and controls. Several such systems are in operation throughout Germany.
